Bromine is very effective in hot water and is recommended for spas and hot tubs.

Note:  Just using bromine tablets or bromine salts is not enough to keep your spa sanitized. Bromine needs shocked to activate. Tablets are suppose to activate themselves but to us that is a myth.   We have seen many customers go thru bucket after bucket of bromine per season and always have a low reading.  Why?  Because once bromine is in the water it turns to bromine salts (sodium bromide) and stays there.  By shocking you reverse that process and the bromide becomes active again.  They best shock to use it potassium mono persulfate.   It is a non chlorine shock and works very quickly to activate your bromine level.  If your were using lots of bromine in a season we guarantee you will reduce that immensley.  

Remember Just adding more bromine will not do the trick.  SHOCK!!!
